Danfoss exhibits robust solutions for the forestry industry at ELMIA WOOD 2017

Innovative engineering brings new opportunities to boost the efficiency, safety and reliability of heavy-duty forestry machines

- Tuesday, 30 May 2017 By Danfoss

Danfoss will stand out among the trees at ELMIA WOOD 2017 in Jönköping, Sweden from June 7-10, where visitors can experience the latest innovative solutions for maximizing forestry machine performance.

SIL 2 approved pressure sensor
To match the demand for functional safety, Danfoss will present a new pressure sensor for SIL 2 approved systems. The DST P92S sensor is specifically designed to provide best-in-class safety, improve performance and reduce maintenance costs.

Built-in safety measures include a start-up diagnosis at every machine start up. During operation, a cyclic diagnosis is performed every 30-40 ms. If any failure is detected, the sensor switches to safe state. The new pressure sensor supports the functional safety of the entire machine and brings you one step ahead in the safety approval process.

In addition to the DST P92S , Danfoss will present a wide range of pressure and temperature sensors for improved efficiency, reduced fuel consumption and safe operation.

High-flow valve solutions
Efficient use of available power is important for all mobile machines. To operate the heavy-duty tools on forestry machines, it is critical. This is why Danfoss has chosen ELMIA WOOD as the launch pad for the two new high-flow proportional valves in the modular PVG portfolio.

The new PVG 128 and 256 valves extend the hydraulic flow range of the PVG series up to 300 liters (79 gallons) and 400 liters (105 gallons) per minute respectively. A special turbo version of the PVG 256 can increase flow up to 500 liters (132 gallons) a minute.

This broad flow range is ideal for highly demanding forestry applications. All PVG valves are fully compatible, so OEMs can easily customize the hydraulic flow to meet the needs of specific work functions. Through this simpler design process, top-performing machines come faster to market.

Plug-and-perform telematics
An up-to-date overview of performance enables foresters to maintain and optimize their entire machine fleet over time. As visitors to ELMIA WOOD will learn, this is the key advantage that Danfoss Telematics provide.

The plug-and-perform telematics solutions are designed to gather and analyze real-time machine data. So, fleet managers can make informed decisions when planning maintenance schedules that minimize downtime.

Danfoss Telematics are easy to integrate in existing machines and have the flexibility and adaptability to match machine capabilities as they evolve over time. That’s a powerful benefit in a market where the demands constantly change.
